Yellow things

I have had a long standing obsession with yellow and have collected numerous objects in this positive colour.

The images here show some of my collections, some long since sold but the ‘yellow altar’ sits in my studio as a permanent reminder of all the beautiful (yellow) things I have found.

 

Many of the pieces are 1950s in origin, a decade where a particular shade of yellow was prevalent – often called chartreuse it is in fact a strong yellow with a hint of black, giving it an almost greenish appearance. They are mainly ‘kitchenalia’ as I like the idea of the colour being applied to an item of utility.
